I am finishing up this book right now, and this is quite a different type of story then what Hamlet portrays. Little Women is set in the late 1800s where the Civil War was being fought in America and progresses through five or six years.
The story sets with a mother with four young girls – Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy. The first part of the book starts with the girls being in their teens and describes their character, strengths/weaknesses, and passions. they ultimately meet many people as they progress through childhood and into adulthood.
The second part is set three to four years after Part One, which is when they are now in the brink of adulthood. Their characters change profoundly and all of them learn the scariness and freedom they all have as each gets older.
I cannot tell you what happens in each of these chapters because it would be a spoiler. But go on! Please read this book; it teaches many life lessons that everyone must know before they are an adult.
