Recently I tested out for the Honors and Accelerated Course, H/A. There were two parts: one part is all multiple choice and the other part is problem solving. First of all, the first part was relatively boring, such as mixing symbols/operations to make the desired number and figuring out where the hole goes when you punch a hole through different layers of a paper. But when I got to the second part, things got interesting. I saw problems that were from the Art of Problem Solving Curriculum! Now, I L.O.V.E😍 MATH so regularly I do the curriculum almost every day! On this test I saw many problems that are conceptually hard to some people but once you get it, it’s not that hard. Out of the 15 problems(given 30 minutes) I finished all of them. They weren’t that hard, but some of these can take at max 5 minutes. Here’s an example:

SOURCE : AOPS

Anyways, the last problem was about perfect powers but having tested so long ago I can’t really describe the power question. If I do though, I’ll update this post.

I hope I get into H/A Algebra II, but it’s ok if I don’t since I’ll be doing the AoPS Intermediate Algebra Textbook!

PS: Comment in the commenting section if you know the answer to problem! 😀
